Jim Brangham Auto Repair is a family-owned shop proudly serving the Coachella Valley since 1993. We are looking for an experienced Advanced Diagnostic Technician who enjoys solving difficult problems and takes pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time.
This is not an entry-level or average technician position. We're looking for a highly skilled professional with a passion for diagnostics, electrical systems, drivability, and modern vehicle technology.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of advanced diagnostic and electrical repair experience.
- Expert-level scan tool operation and interpretation of live data.
- Strong understanding of electrical diagnosis, wiring diagrams, voltage drop testing, CAN Bus networks, and communication systems.
- Experience diagnosing drivability, charging, starting, and intermittent electrical concerns.
- Air Conditioning diagnosis and repair experience (R-134a and R-1234yf).
- Hybrid and Electric Vehicle experience is a strong plus.
- ASE Master or L1 Certification is a plus.
- California Smog Test and Repair License is a plus but not required.
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose complex vehicle concerns efficiently and accurately.
- Perform advanced electrical testing and repairs.
- Diagnose and repair A/C systems.
- Perform drivability and intermittent fault diagnosis.
- Use factory information systems and scan tools effectively.
- Complete thorough Digital Vehicle Inspections with quality photos and technician notes.
- Work closely with Service Advisors to clearly communicate findings and repair recommendations.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and manufacturer education.
